Welcome you and hope it’s been good

We’ve enjoyed your company and the fine table

And hope very much that you did too

Now we are good Lions, working very hard

We have fun and lots of laughs

Our various talents are so many

Allow us to introduce some right now

First there is Ian, making wishes come true

Then there’s Roger, writing monthly news

Next there is Jim, who’s wise and worldly

And there is Derek, who raises lots of dosh.

Jim G has served his apprenticeship well

Now he can match Mike’s parcelling skills

Eddie is our Silver Charter Lion

And Arthur’s still gathering lots and lots of tools

Linda excels at garage and car boot sales

Mike works hard for the local community

And every week now, Barry writes for the Chronicle

And David weaves complicated computer webs

Judy’s a whiz at Bazaars and also at jumbles

Pauline is great at planting out bulbs

Pat’s got bottles and medic alert

Whilst Dave is away sorting out Lions in Germany!

The Lion President, in this Silver year

It’s a first, it’s a lady in post

She wants to thank members, and to tell them they’re great

But don’t – on any account, give up the day jobs!

So that’s this years, silver charter evening

Glad to see you and hope again next year

Safe journey home now and remember it well
